John Alan Schendel, 63, of Greenville, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at his home. John was born July 15, 1956, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the oldest of four brothers. A resident of Meriwether County since 1991, he was employed as an installer for Jimmy Weeks Heating and Air-Conditioning in Fayetteville. Survivors include his wife, Tracey Schendel of Greenville; his parents, Bill and Kay Schendel of St. Bonifacius, Minnesota; brothers and sisters in-law, Thomas and LuAnn Schendel of Rockford, Minnesota, Peter and Theresa Schendel of Maple Plain, Minnesota; a nephew, Joshua Bruce of Greenville; and sister in-law, Kathy Schendel of Lester Prarie, Minnesota In addition, he is survived by three nieces, two nephews, and eight great-nieces and great-nephews, all living in Minnesota, and was preceded in death by his brother, Ronald Schendel. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., Thursday, November 14, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Private interment will be later in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
