John Richard Pike

Mr. John R. Pike, 84, of Hogansville, passed away Saturday, October 30, 2021, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta. Mr. Pike was born August 27, 1937, in Meriwether County, son of the late Elmer and Sara Daniel Pike. A longtime resident of Miami, Florida, he retired as a freight agent for National Airlines and returned to Hogansville to make his home in 2000. John is remembered as a kind and caring friend and was loved in his neighborhood. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Coyne "Margo" Pike; his sisters, Winnifred Green and Gwen Pike; and his brother, Donald Pike. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and close friends. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 24, at the graveside in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in the St. Marks Community of Meriwether County. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
