MR. JOHN M. PHILLIPS Mr. John Michael Phillips, 24, of LaGrange, died Monday, February 1, 2010, at West Georgia Medical Center. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, at the First Baptist Church on the Square in LaGrange. Dr. Paul Baxter will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville. John was born December 5, 1985, in LaGrange, was a lifelong resident of Troup County, and was a 2007 graduate of Callaway High School. A member of the First Baptist Church on the Square, he loved his Lord and his church and was always ready to worship and sing. John also participated in the Special Olympics and won a gold medal in basketball at the Summer Special Olympics in Atlanta. Survivors include his parents, Sid and Reggie Phillips of LaGrange; brother, David Phillips of Atlanta; grandmother, Sara Phillips of Hogansville; and aunts and uncles, Debi and James Thompson of Hogansville, Monty and Lora Neese of Carrollton, and Chip Neese of Lowell, MA. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Wednesday night, February 3rd, at Claude A.
