MR. JOHN M. BROWN Mr. John M. Brown, 72, of Newnan, died Monday, February 21, 2011, at his home. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, February 24, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Timothy Paul Cannon and Pastor Richard T. Clay will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 until 9 Wednesday night. Mr. Brown was born June 14, 1938, in Troup County, son of the late Glover and Mamer Norred Brown. A resident of Hogansville before making his home in Newnan in 1986, he served ten years in the U. S. Air Force and retired as a mechanic from Georgia Power Company after 22 years service. He was Baptist by faith. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Brown of Newnan; daughter and son in-law, Priscilla Lynn and Russell Smith, also of Newnan; sons and daughter in-law, Michael Brown of Franklin and Randy and Diana Brown of Newnan; sister and brother in-law, Zell and Dave Manzo of Tillatoba, MS; and eight grandchildren. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 7 until 9 Wednesday night, February 23rd, at Claude A.
