Joel Anthony Smith

Mr. Joel Anthony Smith, 61, of Newnan, passed away Wednesday, January 26, 2022, at Pruitt Healthcare of Franklin. Mr. Smith was born June 1, 1960, in Newnan, son of the late Carl and Frances Smith. A resident of Newnan most of his life, he worked as a driver for local lumber and building supply companies for many years and was a member of Oaklawn Baptist Church in Newnan. He was a fan of auto racing and had enjoyed shooting pool and playing basketball before his health failed. Survivors include his step-mother, Martha Smith of Whitesburg; brother, Christopher "Bo" Smith and his wife Pam, also of Whitesburg; aunt and uncle, Carolyn and Tom Smith of Newnan; and several cousins, including Becky Spinks of Luthersville.
