Joe "Grandpa" Reddoch

Mr. Joe "Grandpa" Reddoch, 82, of Franklin, passed away Tuesday, January 28, 2020, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital. Mr. Reddoch was born July 10, 1937 in Laurel, MS, son of the late John Spurgeon Reddoch and Sarah Walker Reddoch Pearson. A former member of the Iron Workers Union, he retired from Eckerd Distribution in Newnan, was a member and deacon of Elim Baptist Church, and was a member of Christian Men On Mission. He enjoyed traveling and fishing, loved sports, and was an avid LSU fan. Mr. Reddoch loved being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was known to be willing to help anyone in any way, and could always be found outdoors. Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Candy and Edwin Reeves of Luthersville; son and daughter in-law, Billy and Lee Reddoch of Thomaston; brothers, John Spurgeon (Sonny) Reddoch, Jr. of Gulfport, MS, and Jimmy Reddoch, also of Mississippi; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews, and cousins; and his church family at Elim. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tammy Reddoch; granddaughter, Holly Reddoch; and the mother of his children, Gail Bowen. The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Friday, January 31, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend David Patrick will officiate and interment will be in Elim Baptist Church Cemetery in Coweta County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 8 Thursday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
