Joann Rhodes Rice

Mrs. Joann R. Rice, 67, of LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.

Mrs. Rice was born July 12, 1957, in Copperhill, TN, daughter of the late Franklin Leonard Rhodes and Frankie Mae Green Rhodes. She was raised in Griffin, had lived in LaGrange most of her life, was a member of Springhill Baptist Church, and was employed for a number of years at Carter's in Hogansville. She enjoyed watching John Wayne movies on TV, camping, fishing, and visiting the mountains, but caring for her family was the central focus of her life.

Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, Robin and Jamie Reynolds of Standing Rock, AL, Barbara and Harvis Holloway of LaGrange; grandson, Casey Holloway of LaGrange; sisters, Norma Johnson of Griffin, Brenda Abercrombie of LaGrange; brothers, Terry Rhodes of Chatsworth, Kerry Rhodes of Griffin; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert Mark Coe and Jimmy Delane Rice; her daughter, Tammy Joann Coe; and her brother, Jerry Rhodes.

The funeral service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Sunday, March 23, at Springhill Baptist Church, with the Reverend Jody Mitchell and the Reverend Jeremy Royster officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Sunday, prior to the service.
