Jimmy Monroe Gordon

Mr. Jimmy Monroe Gordon, 71, of Forest Park, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019. Born June 30, 1947 in Miller County, Mr. Gordon was the son of the late Murray William Gordon and the late Jeffie Dee Talley Davis. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War and retired from South Fulton Hospital, where he worked in the painting department. After his retirement, Mr. Gordon owned and operated a painting business, Gordon Creations. Survivors include his daughters, Sherry Lee Campbell of Covington and Samantha Lee Brannon of Forest Park; sisters, Debbie Caldwell of Luthersville and Barbara Jean Tweedell of Newnan; brothers, Donnie Roy Gordon and Ronald Alton Gordon, both of High Falls, Dannie Ray Gordon of Lanett, AL, and Thomas Alvin Gordon of Newnan. The family will host a memorial service at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 10, at Bethel Baptist Church in the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County, with the Reverend Kenneth Heinzel officiating.The family will greet friends at the church.
