Mr. Jimmy Hubert Brown, 75, of Valley AL, passed away Sunday, September 15, 2024, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, AL.
Jimmy was born on November 2, 1948, to the late John L. and Frances Brown of Newnan, GA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Genie Brown.
Jimmy grew up in Newnan, in a very loving Christian home with his parents, one brother, and two sisters. In 1971, he joined the Army and completed a tour in Thailand as a Communications Center Specialist, where he earned a medal as a sharpshooter. Upon returning home, Jimmy settled into life and raised two children, Beth and "Little" Jimmy.
For many years, Jimmy worked at Nylco Corporation in Newnan, where he made lifelong friends. He retired from Walmart as a sales associate along with his wife, Genie. Jimmy and Genie were members at Oaklawn Baptist Church in Newnan.
Jimmy's greatest loves in life were God, family and friends. He was a dedicated, loving husband of 29 years to Genie and was her sole caregiver in the later years of her life. He was a loving, caring and steadfast father to his children. He loved his brother and sisters and enjoyed seeing their families grow with new children and grandchildren. He loved playing golf and buying and selling collections of any kind. But mostly, he loved making friends along the way.
Survivors include his daughter, Beth Brown Hall (Eddie) and children Olivia and Mason of Newnan, son, Jimmy Brown (Christal) and son Hunter of Newnan, step-son, Lee Hunt (Susie) and son Tyler of Williamson; brother, David Brown (Lisa) of Valley, AL, sisters, Nancy Cole (Frank) of Rogersville, TN and Kathy Popwell (Joe) of Buford. Jimmy had many nieces and nephews and extended family that he loved dearly.
