MR. J. W. (BUDDY) LEDFORD Mr. Jessie W. (Buddy) Ledford, 83, of Hogansville, died Saturday, October 17, 2009, at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 19, at the graveside in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in the St. Marks Community of Meriwether County, with the Reverend Bill Smith and the Reverend Bill Deakins officiating. Mr. Ledford was born June 2, 1926, in Meriwether County, son of the late Jessie T. Ledford and the late Lena Pearson Ledford. An Army veteran of World War Two, he was a lifelong resident of Meriwether County, retired from NAPA Auto Parts in Greenville, was a member and deacon of Union Baptist Church. Survivors include his son and daughter in-law, Tim and Angie Ledford; granddaughters and grandsons in-law, Allyson and Jerimy Stephens and Amanda and Shannon Snyder, all of Hogansville; great-grandchildren, Alyssa Stephens, Sydney Snyder, Brittany Snyder, and Brooke Snyder; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Allison Ledford. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Union Baptist Church, 10000 Highway 100, Hogansville, GA 30230, are appreciated. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 4 until 6 Sunday afternoon, October 18th, at Claude A.
