Jerry F. Worthy

Mr. Jerry F. Worthy, 80, of Hogansville, passed away Wednesday, February 7, 2024, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.

Mr. Worthy was born August 12, 1943, in Hogansville, son of the late George and Effie Radcliff Worthy. A lifelong resident of Hogansville, he was involved in the grocery business all of his life and was employed by Ingles Market in Hogansville for the past 26 years. He enjoyed collecting coins and is remembered as a hard-working and sincere man.

Survivors include his wife, Diane Worthy of Hogansville; sons, Scott Worthy of LaGrange, Kevin and Stephanie Worthy of Valley, AL; his grandchildren, Jordan Gay, Ethan Worthy, Michael Worthy, Lacey Worthy, Ashley Owen; and nephew, Rex Worthy. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry F. Worthy, Jr.; his brother, Ben Worthy; and his sister, Eva Worthy.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 10, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend David Simmons will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p. m, Saturday, prior to the service.
