Jerry Lee Green

Mr. Jerry L. Green, 83, of Grantville, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Mr. Green was born September 4, 1939, in Atlanta, son of the late Carter Morris Green and Velma Geneva Christian Green. A veteran of service in the U. S. Army, he retired after more than 50 years of owning and operating Redi-Cut in Atlanta, a wholesale food distributor. He attended Corinth Baptist Church, was a member of Georgia Sheriff's Association, enjoyed bowling, but especially loved caring for his family, his animals, and his land.

Survivors include his wife, Claudia Green of Grantville; daughters and son in-law, Cindy and Keith Baker of Grantville, Debra Turpin of Anderson, SC; son and daughter in-law, Bill and Laura Staton of Chocowinity, NC; and grandchildren, Ali Baker, April Moore, Keith Snider, Chad Staton, Michael Staton. He was preceded in death by his son, Dwayne Green; and his sister and brothers, Sissy Banks, Jimmy Green, Sonny Green, and Tommy Green.

A memorial service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, April 22, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Milton Hall and the Reverend Donny Shelton officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m., Saturday, prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.
