Mr. Jerry Wayne Lashley, 79, of LaGrange, passed away Friday, April 7, 2023, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Lashley was born June 20, 1943, in Randolph County, Alabama, son of the late Merna Lashley and Myrtle Stillwell Lashley. A veteran of service in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, he retired from the Army National Guard and was also a longtime employee of Milliken and Company, retiring from the Live Oak Division. He enjoyed watching old, black and white Western shows and movies.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Janet Lashley; daughter and son in-law, Tracie and Michael Heath, all of LaGrange; special cousins, Joyce and Ed Shelnutt, Tripp and Staci Foster and their children Ali and Cal; nieces and nephews, Kristi Lashley Rollins and her husband Brent, Brandy Lashley Carden and her husband Walt; great-nieces and great-nephews, Gavin Lipham, Breanna and Chad Covington, Ivee Rae Lipham, Reid Carden; great-great-nephew, Bennett Covington; and special friends, Teddy McGhie, Frances Holland, Juanita Brooks, Gwen Young, Joseph Rogers, and Misty Kennedy. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Larry Lashley and Terry Lashley.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 11, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Michael Heath and the Reverend Mike Brewer will officiate and interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens with military honors.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m, Monday.
