MR. JERRY L. BOSWELL Mr. Jerry L. Boswell, 79, of Lanett, Alabama, passed away Sunday, March 24, 2019, at East Alabama Medical Center-Lanier in Valley, Alabama. Mr. Boswell was born January 8, 1940, in Coweta County, son of the late George Stevenson Boswell and Evelyn Rooks Boswell. A resident of Coweta County most of his life, he was a retired plumber and electrician, had lived in Lanett, AL over twenty years and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. He was a fervent believer of prayer in schools and in 2003, he rode a horse to Washington, DC in one-man campaign to draw attention to that need. He made additional riding trips to Buffalo, NY, Indianapolis, IN, and Chattanooga, TN, later writing a book about his experiences on these trips. Survivors include his wife, Janett Boswell of Lanett, AL; his children and their spouses, Len and Melissa Ann Boswell of Hogansville, Leigh and Anthony King of Leslie, Deborah and Greg Walker of Greenville, Alec Boswell of Moreland; step-children, Debra Presley of Valley, AL, Donald Howard and Star Abbott of Eufaula, AL; sister and brother in-law, Sherry and Wayne Smith of Newnan; brother and sister in-law, Randy and Beatrice Boswell of Moreland; fourteen grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 26, at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Valley, AL. Dr. Darren White and the Reverend Raymond Sorrells will officiate and interment will be in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in the St. Marks Community of Meriwether County at 3:00 p.m.. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday night and at the church from 12 until 1 Tuesday. Condolences may be expressed at www.mckibbenfuneralhome.com Claude A.
