Jeffrey E. Gay

Mr. Jeffrey E. Gay, 54, of Phenix City, AL, passed away, Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Jack Hughston Hospital in Phenix City.

Mr. Gay was born June 23, 1969, in Atlanta, son of the late Herschel O. "Pete" Gay and Dianna Moman Gay Hamilton. He was employed as a painting and carpentry contractor, loved to fish, and enjoyed playing Yahtzee.

Survivors include his daughters, Kayla O'Neal of Webster, FL, Madison Gay of Columbus; granddaughters, Gracelyn O'Neal and Jenny O'Neal; sisters, Kim Scaff of Newnan, Tina Scott of Greenville; brother, Mike Gay of Greenville; his girlfriend, Christi Barnett of Phenix, City; step-brother, C.J. Nolen; and a number of nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother DeWayne Gay.

The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 29, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Norman Waddell will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m., Tuesday.
