MR. JEFFERY W. WINGATE

Mr. Jeffery W. Wingate, age 53, of LaGrange, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026, at his home.

Mr. Wingate was born April 13, 1973, in LaGrange, was a 1992 graduate of Hogansville High School, and was employed by KIA Georgia before experiencing health issues. He was a member of Cedarcrest Church in LaGrange and had attended Hogansville Church of God and City Lights Church in LaGrange. He loved being with his children, listening to Christmas music, and remembering his Hogansville High School days and classmates.

Survivors include his wife, Johna Hollis Wingate; his children, Kimberly Hollis, Cecelia Jones (Alyssa Jones), Matthew Wingate (Rebekah Crowe), Katie Wingate, Jackson Wingate, Jordan Wingate, Michael Wingate; grandchildren, ZycoreyN Hart, Zander Pearson, Keegan Fetter; his father, Warren Wingate; brothers, Travis Wingate (Lee), Mike Wingate (Donna), Kevin Wingate (Melissa); and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marie Freeman Wingate and his grandson, Grayson Gilliam.

The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 27, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Pastor Mark Davenport and Pastor Michelle Davenport will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, prior to the service.

Jeffery was an avid University of Georgia Bulldogs fan and it was his request that those attending his service wear Red and Black colors or Georgia shirts.
