MRS. JEAN WATTS Mrs. Jean Day Watts, 75, of Greenville, died Sunday, August 31, 2014 at West Georgia Medical Center in LaGrange. Born October 22, 1938, in Richmond, Virginia, Mrs. Watts was the daughter of the late Earl and Esther Strickland Day. She was Baptist by faith, owned and operated a beauty shop in Red Oak for many years, and had lived in Greenville for over twenty years. Survivors include her daughters and sons in-law, Cindy and Steve Whitlock of Hogansville, Kathy and Rick VanHorn, and Bobbie Jean Frost, all of Greenville; aunt, Margie Stokes of Stockbridge; grandchildren, Crystal Powell, Stephanie Periatt, Laura Perdue, Jeremy Cox, April Berry, Brittany Cox, Nathan Thomas, Tiffany Thomas, Mathew Frost, and Courtney Frost; and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Watts was preceded in death by her son, Richard Smith, and her brother, Earl Day, Jr.. A memorial service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, September 2, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Randall Hodge officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 until 11 Tuesday morning. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Meriwether County Recreation Department, 17234 Roosevelt Highway Building B, Greenville, GA 30222. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: 10 until 11 Tuesday morning at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. Services: 11:oo a.m. Tuesday, September 2, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home.
