Janet Carol Pruitt

Janet Carol Pruitt, 63, of Pine Mountain and formerly of East Point, passed away Monday, December 30, 2019, at her home. Born April 14, 1956, in Atlanta, Jan lived in East Point most of her life before making her home in Pine Mountain in October, and retired from the Georgia Department of Education after more than thirty years of service. She loved her nieces and nephews as though they were her children, and she enjoyed attending Mountville Baptist Church and Hogansville Church of God. Survivors include her sister, Pat Williams and her husband Ted of Luthersville; and a number of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, January 2, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Randall Hodge and the Reverend Dwayne Perdue will officiate and interment will be in Old Roswell City (Roswell Methodist) Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m., Thursday. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
