Jan Walls Chaffin

Mrs. Jan Walls Chaffin, 79, of Newnan, passed away Monday, October 27, 2025, at Avalon Health and Rehabilitation.

Mrs. Chaffin was born September 5, 1946, in Troup County, daughter of the late D.R. and Leila Burson Walls. A 1964 graduate of Hogansville High School, she lived in Hogansville most of her life before making her home in Newnan 15 years ago, was employed for a number of years as the activities director for The Brian Center in LaGrange.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Jerome Chaffin of Newnan; daughter and son in-law, Vickie and Michael Burgess of Toole, UT; sons and daughters in-law, Jeff and Shelley Chaffin, Chris and Betty Chaffin, all of Newnan; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her sister, Lois George of Jackson's Gap, AL.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 6, at the Hogansville Church of God, with the Reverend Randall Hodge and the Rev. Dr. Lamar Truitt officiating.

The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Thursday, prior to the service.
