Mr. Jamie Alan Sharples, 40, of LaGrange, went home to be with the
Lord , Saturday, November 4, 2017, at his home.
A native of LaGrange and lifelong resident of Troup County, Mr. Sharples was employed as an ASE Certified mechanic by Stanford Automotive.
Survivors include his wife of twenty two years, Dana Sharples, and his sons, Zachery Quinton Sharples and Jackson Alan Sharples, all of LaGrange; parents, David and Melanie Dodgen of Hogansville; his siblings, Kindall Dodgen (Wayne Worthy) of LaGrange, Jesse Dodgen (Brittany Short) of Opelika, AL, Travis Dodgen of West Point, Logan Dodgen of Hogansville; an uncle, Ricky Smith of Gay; nieces,Ellie, Brylee, and Alexandria Worthy of LaGrange, Rylee Dodgen of Valley, Al, and Breanna Dodgen of Opelika, Al. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Quinton and Dollie Smith and his mother Jan Sharples.
Jamie was a devoted and beloved son, brother, husband, father, and uncle who loved his family more than words can say. He took great pride in his profession and loved being a mechanic and he was never too busy to help his friends and family no matter what the need.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 9, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jeff Duran and the Reverend Donald Yancey will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Wednesday night.
