MR. JAMES V. (BUDDY) WINKLES
Mr. James Vernon (Buddy) Winkles, 71, of LaGrange, passed away, Monday, November 3, 2014, at his home.
Mr. Winkles was born December 27, 1942, in Atlanta, and had lived in Troup County for a number of years. He served in the U. S. Army in Korea and was a long time employee of the Ford Motor Company Assembly Plant in Hapeville. He loved cars and fishing, and especially enjoyed flea markets.
Survivors include his daughter, Leigh Mechelle King and her husband, Hubert of Pine Mountain; sons, James Vernon Winkles Hodnett and his wife Tomi Sue of Pine Mountain, Albert Ford Moncus, Jr. and his wife, Martha of North Carolina; his mother, Ruth Bullard of Cedartown; sisters, Diane Worthy of Hogansville, Brenda Harrell and Linda Carter, both of Rome, Karen Williamson of Houston, TX; and ten grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Chad Elbert Winkles and his father, Elbert Vernon Winkles.
The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 6, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11 until 1 Thursday.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
