James Larry Williamson

Mr. Larry Williamson, 72, of Hogansville, passed away, Sunday, August 12, 2018, at his home. Mr. Williamson was born December 21, 1945, in Hogansville, son of the late Emmett and Betty McWhorter Williamson. A lifelong resident of Troup County, he retired as a truck driver for Williamson Pulpwood and Timber Company. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church and was an ordained minister who loved to preach. Survivors include his daughter and son in-law, Donna and Scott Brown of Hogansville; son and daughter in-law, Jamie and Jennifer Williamson of Newnan; sister, Brenda and Richard Hampson; brother, Donnie and Sherry Williamson; brother in-law, Rocky and Viki Vessell, all of Hogansville; grandchildren, Hope Moon, Colton Williamson, Annabelle Williamson; great-granddaughter, Leigha Moon; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Vessell Williamson. The funeral service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, at Bible Baptist Church. The Reverend Eddie Perry, the Reverend Lynn Janney, the Reverend Jerome Wood, and the Reverend Milton Hall will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Tuesday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
