Mr. James Randall Thomas, age 80, of Moreland, passed away Friday, September 11, 2026, at Wellstar Kennestone Hospital in Marietta.
Mr. Thomas was born August 12,1946, in Meriwether County, son of the late Joseph and Nadine Garner Thomas. A resident of the Luthersville area most of his life, he lived in Meridian, MS for several years prior to his retirement as a terminal manager for Amoco Oil after 30 years of service. Randall enjoyed working in his yard, cutting grass, and was an avid NASCAR fan.
Survivors include his wife, Elaine Thomas of Moreland; sons, Joseph Thomas of Newnan and John Thomas (Tanya) of Sylacauga, AL; grandchildren, Nathan Thomas (Abbie), Harlie Thomas, and Alan Duffey; great-grandchildren, Chloe Duffey and Alan Duffey, Jr.; sisters, JoAnn Shortsleeve (Paul) of Sterling, MA, Joy Martin of Newnan, and Judy Turpin of Zebulon. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Michelle Duffey; granddaughter, Brittany Duffey; brother, Lynwood Thomas, and sister, Jane Thomas Crews.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 16. In the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend John Pape will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 15.
