James C. Tant

Mr. James C. Tant, 77, of Riverdale, passed away, Thursday, January 17, 2019, at Avalon Health and Rehabilitation in Newnan. Mr. Tant was born October 31, 1941, in Rockmart, son of the late Clyde Clinton Tant and Joanne Williams Tant. He served as a Sergeant in the U. S. Army, had made his home in Riverdale since 1968, and retired from Bellsouth after many years of service. Survivors include his sons and daughters in-law, Cal and Allyson Tant of Newnan, Kevin and Sarah Tant of Cartersville; sister, Janice Ingram of Spring Lake, NC; brother, Carl Tant of Moreland; and grandchildren, Megan Tant and Felicity Tant. He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Barber Tant. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, January 21, at the graveside in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County, with Dr. Kirk Bozeman officiating. Flowers are appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the Parkinson's Foundation. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 until 7 Sunday evening. Claude A.
