MR. JAMES K.TALLENT
Mr. James Kenneth Tallent, 73, of Hogansville, died Sunday, December 12, 2010, at his home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 15, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with interment in Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
Born June 8, 1937, in Atlanta, Mr. Tallent was the son of the late Aaron and Arah Ragan Tallent. He was a veteran of service in the U.S. Marine Corps, lived in the Atlanta area before making his home at Hogansville in 1998, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He retired after serving 20 years as a personal security officer for Robert Woodruff, and was an avid knife collector, who enjoyed designing and making knives.
Survivors include his wife, Sally Crutchfield Tallent, of Hogansville; daughters, Karen Denise Tallent and Tammy Davis Banzaca and her husband, Gerard Banzaca, also of Hogansville; five grandchildren, including Trey Davis and Gabe Banzaca; sisters, Margaret Tallent and Beverly Davis, both of Rogers AR, Betty Ann Hembree of Jupiter, FL, and Pauline Delores Burts of Tampa, FL; and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, James Kenneth Tallent, Jr.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
