James E. Strickland

MR. JAMES E. STRICKLAND Mr. James E. Strickland, 65, of Luthersville, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2015, at Piedmont Atlanta Hospital. Mr. Strickland was born January 30, 1950, in Luthersville, son of the late James Archer Strickland and Mildred Abner Strickland. A lifelong resident of Meriwether County, he retired as traffic manager from William L Bonnell Company, was an avid fisherman, and was known for the barbeque and stew that he enjoyed cooking for his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Ellen Whitmore Strickland of Luthersville; daughters, Karen Dell and her husband Daniel of Moultrie, and Lisa Strickland of Newnan; and grandchildren, James Strickland and Grayson Dell. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 27, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend James Calhoun will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Claude A.
