Mr. James D. Seymour, 86, of Hogansville, passed away Friday, November 11, 2016, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
Mr. Seymour was born July 27, 1930, in Lakeland, FL, son of the late Ed Carlton Seymour and Vivian Pickard Seymour. A resident of Hogansville for 43 years, he was an Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a retired general contractor. He was a Mason and a Shriner, attended Highland Baptist Church, and loved to fish.
Survivors include his daughters and sons in-law, Terrie and Steven Prescott of Hogansville, Susie and Bill Magnin of Palm Harbor, FL; son, James Richard Seymour of Brooksville, FL; grandchildren, Paul Prescott, Jimmy Daniel, Karen Ayers Joyner, Kyle Magnin, Jamey Seymour, John Seymour; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Kent Seymour, and his sister, Marjorie Seymour King.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Monday, November 14, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Wesley Boatman and the Reverend Terry Rainwater officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Sunday night.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hope For A Day and American Cancer Society.
