MR. JAMES EDWARD SAMPLES Mr. James Edward Samples, 89, of Franklin, died Thursday, October 4, 2012. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 6, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Calhoun and the Reverend Alan Waldrop will officiate and interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Friday night. Mr. Samples was born September 29, 1923, in Coweta County, son of the late Ernest Willie (Red) Samples and Bernice Stella Smallwood Samples. A resident of the Newnan and Hogansville area most of his life, he retired from Ryder Truck Lines as a truck driver. He enjoyed buying and selling, and was a savvy trader. Survivors include his son and daughter in-law, Rickey and Peggy Samples of Hogansville; daughters and sons in-law, Elaine and Ray Fritts, Arlene and Numey (Sandy) Saunders, all of Hogansville, Vickie and Craig Dean of Orange Beach, AL; sister and brother in-law, Leroy and Gerrie Samples of McDonough; 9 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Christine Dean Samples. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Friday night, October 5th, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Services: 11:00 a.m., Saturday, october 6th, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Interment: Oak Hill Cemetery in Newnan
