MR. ROBERT BARBER Mr. James Robert Barber, 62, of LaGrange, died Saturday, March 23, 2013, at West Georgia Medical Center. A going home celebration will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 27, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend James Calhoun, the Reverend Ronnie Fuller, and the Reverend Bryan Geter will officiate and interment will be in Bethel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Monday and Tuesday nights. Mr. Barber was born January 26, 1951, in Meriwether County, son of the late John Clovis Barber and Josie Mae Calhoun Barber. A member of Family Worship Center in Hogansville, he had lived in LaGrange for 36 years and was employed as a mechanic for Rings Fork Lift. Survivors include his wife, Sandra Barber of LaGrange; daughters and sons in-law, Dianne and Michael Blouin of LaGrange, Donna and Jesse Lytle of Hanover, MI; sons and daughters in-law, Jerome Barber and Eric Barber of LaGrange; Alex and Regina McCullough of Chicago, IL, Eddie and Merilea McCullough of Panama City, FL, Robert Lee and Christina McCullough of Shreveport, LA; sisters, Frances Calhoun of Grantville, Gladys Hannah of LaGrange; brothers, John C. Barber of Gay, Billy Barber of LaGrange; 20 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
