James Levon Pruitt

Mr. James Levon Pruitt, 81, of Hogansville, passed away Monday, June 13, 2022, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center. Mr. Pruitt was born January 24, 1941, in LaGrange, son of the late Reverend Paul E. Pruitt and Lorena Hendrix Pruitt. A lifelong resident of Troup County, he was Apostolic by faith and was employed as a cabinet builder prior to his retirement. He enjoyed woodworking and watching football. Survivors include his wife, Sherry Pruitt; his mother in-law, Adelle Hanners; sisters in-law, Gayle and Robert Hendrix, June and L.T. Hogan, all of Hogansville, Gloria Pruitt of Jonesboro; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Audrey Pruitt Reese; brothers, Paul Pruitt and Robert Pruitt; and father in-law, Jessie O. Hanners. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, June 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend David Simmons will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., Friday.
