Mr. James T. "Tim" Moore, Sr., 67, of Hogansville, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2024, at Wellstar West Georgia Medical Center.
Mr. Moore was born June 5, 1957, in Griffin, son of the late James Hubert Moore and Ollie Mae Smith Moore Strickland, and was also preceded in death by his step-father, Oliver Strickland. A resident of Hogansville most of his life, he was involved in public service for many years, serving as a dispatcher for Hogansville Police Department, as a paramedic for Hogansville EMS and Atlanta South EMS, and as a deputy for Meriwether County Sheriff's Office. He retired from Carter's in Hogansville, was a member of Family Worship Center, and loved to hunt and to read.
Survivors include his wife, Crystal Moore; daughter and son in-law, Jessica and Joel Powell, all of Hogansville; son and daughter in-law, J.T, and Stefanie Moore of Newnan; grandchildren, Trace Powell, Blake Powell, Brianna Moore; sisters, Lillian Drake of Hogansville, Charlene Bruce, and Judy Wade, both of Moreland. In addition to his father, mother, and step-father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Kenny Smith.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 1, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend James Calhoun will officiate and interment will be in Faith Baptist Church Cemetery in the Primrose Community of Meriwether County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Thursday.
