Mr. James N. Messer, 82, of Senoia and formerly of Hogansville, passed away Friday, January 29, 2016, at his home.
Mr. Messer was born July 25, 1933, in Cherokee County, Alabama, son of the late K. C. and Ida Mae Pence Messer. He lived in the Hogansville area from 1947 until making his home in Senoia in 2014, and retired as a production supervisor from LaGrange Molding after more than 20 years of service. He was a member of McIntosh Masonic Lodge #735 and was a member of Hogansville Church of Christ.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Messer of Senoia; daughter and son in-law, Lena and Justin Hogan of Hogansville; sons and daughters in-law, Rick and Missy Campbell of McDonough, Chip and Sandee Campbell of Hogansville; step-daughter, Mary Ann Russell and her husband, John of Palmetto; step-son, Charles Entrekin, Jr. and his wife, Renae of Manvel, Texas; sisters, Loree Worley of Hogansville, Velna Smith of LaGrange, Sara Carlson of Pittsburgh, PA; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and three step-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Connie Crowder Messer; son, James Messer, Jr.; and brothers, Thurston Messer, Calvin Messer, Eual Messer.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Monday, February 1, at the Hogansville Church of Christ. Minister Robert Brooks and Minister Brad Crider will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery, with Masonic graveside rites.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 9 Sunday night.
