James Allen "Buddy" Mcalister

Mr. James Allen "Buddy" McAlister, 73, of Hogansville, passed away Wednesday, October 14, 2020, at Cancer Treatment Center of America in Newnan. Mr. McAlister was born July 12, 1947, in Russellville, Arkansas, son of the late James Scott McAlister and Mary Diana McAlister. A resident of Georgia since 1985, he retired as a project scheduler for Wheelabrator after more than thirty years of service. His family was the most important part of his life, but he was also an avid bowler and was a certified bowling coach and director for youth leagues. Survivors include his wife, Marsha McAlister of Hogansville; his children, Tim McAlister of Little Rock, AR, Shala and David McCarty of LaGrange, Melissa Hodge of Perryville, AR, Richard Jolly of Bowdon, Shane Jolly of Lanett, AL; a number of grandchildren, including Kourtnie McCarty, David A. McCarty, Conner McAlister, Ben McAlister; great-grandchildren, Kenslie, Brylie, Kylie, and Wyatt McCarty; and sisters in-law, Linda Williams, Deborah Pizan, and Brenda Cole, all of Little Rock. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Terry Rainwater will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Friday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
