James Aubrey Massey

Mr. James Aubrey Massey, 77, of the Rocky Mount Community of Meriwether County, passed away Saturday, March 12, 2022, at his home. Mr. Massey was born June 4, 1944, in Meriwether County, son of the late Virgil and Mary Ellen Flournoy Massey. A lifelong resident of Meriwether County, he was Baptist by faith, was a retired iron worker, and a member of Iron Workers Local #387 in Atlanta. Survivors include his wife, Susan Elaine Massey of Rocky Mount; daughters, Sandy Freeman of Chattanooga, TN, Sonya Bolick of Rocky Mount, and Madonna Carr of North Liberty, IA, sons, Steve Bolick of Radford, VA, Michael Bolick of Crescent City, FL; sisters, Louise Scott of Madras and Katherine Jones of Greenville; brother, Donald Massey of Manchester; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Lynn Massey; son, James N. "Jamie" Massey ; and sisters, Lottie Mae Stewart, Dorothy Ann Addison, Inez Abernathy, Virgilene Pollard, and Lunette Foster. A graveside service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, in the Luthersville Cemetery, with the Reverend Terry Rainwater officiating.
