James Larry Massengale

Mr. James Larry Massengale, 67, of Greenville, passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018, at his home. Mr. Massengale was born November 2, 1950, in Coweta County, son of the late Hiram Albert Massengale and Frances Capes Massengale. A U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War, he lived in Troup and Coweta counties most of his life and was a retired auto mechanic. He was an avid supporter of veterans affairs and loved motorcycles and VW Beetles. Survivors include his sons and daughter in-law, Josh Massengale of Newnan, Jody and Jennifer Massengale of Greenville; sisters, Mattie Smith and Pat Williamson of Hogansville, Diane Edwards of Moreland; and his beloved grandson, Lucas Massengale. A memorial service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville, with the Reverend Winston Skinner officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m., Saturday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to assist the family with final expenses.
