Mr. James L. Jabaley, 81, of LaGrange, passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024, at his home.
Mr. Jabaley was born November 29, 1942, in Grantville, son of the late Joe Asef Jabaley and Marie Tomasina Perez Jabaley. A veteran of service in the U.S. Navy, he lived in Grantville before making his home in LaGrange over 20 years ago, where he and his late wife had owned and operated Kountry Kitchen Restaurant. He was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church in LaGrange and had been a member of the Newnan Moose Club and the American Legion. He loved his dog, enjoyed riding his Harley-Davidson, and loved playing pool and cards.
Survivors include his daughters, Terita and Steve Flournoy, Sonya Jabaley, and Maria Jabaley, all of LaGrange; six grandchildren, Tara and Michael Granims, Ashleigh Gilmore, Courtney and Derrick Ryner, Autumn Gilmore, James and Somer Batchelor, Crystal and Jonathan DeMouy; sixteen great-grandchildren, and his sisters, Lorraine "Anne" Jabaley and Jeanette Keener, both of Newnan, and Marlene Gasses of McDonough. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Carr Jabaley; son, Larry James Jabaley; and twin brother, Gerald Jabaley.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Monday, September 23, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. Father Timothy Gadziala will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m., Monday, prior to the service
