James Edwin Huggin, age 82, of Atlanta, passed away September 12, 2017, at his home in Buckhead.
Mr. Huggin was born on October 4, 1934, in Williamston, SC to the late Charles Bennett Huggin and Iona Johnson Huggin. After his father's untimely death in 1938, James and his family moved to Hogansville, Georgia, where he spent his childhood surrounded by loving grandparents and relatives. "Jimmy," as he was affectionately called by his family, attended the University of Georgia and later moved to Atlanta where he worked as a customer service representative in various appliance companies and heating/air conditioning services.
Mr. Huggin was a member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church where he attended the Harmony Class for over 60 years. He loved his church family and spoke fondly of all the wonderful times they all shared together.
Preceded in death by his older brother, Charles Bennett Huggin, Jr., Mr. Huggin is survived by his sisters, Gloria Huggin Darden of West Point, and Jane Huggin Kennedy, of Columbia, SC, and a brother, John Huggin (Sandy) of Jacksonville, FL. He had many nephews and nieces who loved and admired his gentle spirit and quiet determination to live life to the fullest.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, September 17, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Jamie Jenkins will officiate and interment will be in Allen-Lee Memorial United Methodist Church Cemetery in Lone Oak..

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
