Mr. James D. (Jimmy) Howard, Jr., 70, of LaGrange, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2020, at Hospice LaGrange.
Mr. Howard was born October 25, 1949, in Atlanta, son of the late James David Howard and Dorothy Harris Howard. A retired roofing contractor, he was a member of Allen-Lee Memorial United Methodist Church in the Lone Oak Community. He enjoyed painting, cooking, and assembling model cars.
Survivors include his sister, Sheila McGlamory; brothers, Donald Howard, Sr. and David Howard, Sr.; nieces and nephews, Lisa Ferrell and Glynn Billiot, Billy and Gina McGlamory, Timmy and Tammy McGlamory, Jan McGlamory, Donald Howard, Jr., Jessica Howard, Ashley Howard, David Howard Jr., Tonya Howard, Kim Howard, and Jamie Howard; 24 great-nieces and great-nephews; 11 great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; and a special family member, Sherry McGlamory. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Annie Howard; sister, Denise Ferguson; nephew, Brian Ferrell; and great-nephew, Cordero McGlamory.
The funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Saturday, January 18, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Max Riley and the Reverend Winston Skinner will officiate and interment will be in Gray Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Troup County.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Friday night.
