MR. JAMES ARLIN GARNER
Mr. James Arlin "Unk" Garner, 74, of the Corinth Community, died Wednesday, February 5, 2014, at his home.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, February 7, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Paul Stitcher and Mr. Doyle Johnson will officiate and interment will be in the Corinth Cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Thursday night.
Mr. Garner was born April 20, 1939, in Heard County, son of the late Forrest Davis Garner and Eva Belle Carroll Garner. A retired over-the-road truck driver, he lived in Lumberton, NC for 31 years before returning to this area seven years ago to make his home with his sister and brother in-law. He was Baptist by faith.
Survivors include his sons, Larry and Ross, both of Lumberton; sister and brother in-law, Jewell and Perk Hammett of Corinth; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Garner; daughter, Jackie Garner; and brother, John Garner.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
