Mr. James M. Fomby, 76, of Hogansville, passed away Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Wellstar West Georgia Hospice.
Raised by his aunt, Earline Fomby Waller, Mr. Fomby was born August 31, 1941, in Troup County, son of the late Virginia Fomby and Marion Garner. He lived in Hogansville most of his life, was a graduate of Hogansville High School, and was Baptist by faith. He was employed for a number of years by Eastern Airlines, retired from Cooper Lighting in Peachtree City, and then worked at Caterpillar in LaGrange. He enjoyed coin collecting, deer hunting, and being with his great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his grandson, Bryan and Tricia Pike and their children, Hunter Pike, Hailey Pike, and Hayden Pike all of Hogansville; and his sister, Ann Daniel of LaGrange.
A memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, June 16, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral in Hogansville, with the Reverend Jody Mitchell officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3 until 4, Saturday.
