MR. JAMES E. DOLLAR Mr. James E. (Salty) Dollar, 92, of LaGrange, died Wednesday, September 1, 2010, at his home. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 3, at The Pentecostal Church of LaGrange. The Reverend Dalton Hammock will officiate and interment will be in Hillview East Cemetery in LaGrange. Mr. Dollar was born March 30, 1918, in Troup County, son of the late Edwin and Ina Dukes Dollar. An Army veteran of World War Two, he lived in LaGrange most of his life and was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He retired as a lieutenant from the LaGrange Fire Department after more than 30 years service. Survivors include his son and daughter in-law, Randy and Patricia Dollar of LaGrange; daughters, Rita Bagley of LaGrange and Robbie Dollar of Fortson; 12 grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Morris of Sharpsburg and Bonnie Mosteller of Jackson; and brothers, Donnie Dollar of Brooks and Amos Dollar of Decatur. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ella Mae Dollar; and daughters, Sharon Dollar Kennedy and Brenda Delores Dollar. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Thursday night, September 2nd, at Claude A.
