JAMES S. CAMPBELL, JR.
Mr. James S. (Jim) Campbell, Jr., 59, of Hogansville, died Saturday, December 27, 2008, at Hart County Hospital in Hartwell.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, December 30, at the First Baptist Church of Hogansville. The Reverend Clinton Hughes and the Reverend Harold Willis will officiate and interment will be in Restlawn Memory Gardens in LaGrange.
Born May 26, 1949, in Anderson, SC, Mr. Campbell was the son of the late James Samuel and Clara Maude Shiflet Campbell. He was a 1967 graduate of Hart County High School, served in the U.S. Air Force from 1967 until 1971, was a graduate of West Georgia Technical College and had lived in Hogansville since 1972. He was employed in banking for fifteen years, in car sales for a number of years, and, at the time of his death, was employed as sales manager for Classic Manor Builders. Mr. Campbell was a member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Hogansville.
Survivors include his wife, Lynn Campbell of Hogansville; son and daughter in-law, Chris and Mariea Campbell, also of Hogansville; three grandchildren, Drew Campbell, Jacob Campbell, and Tyson Campbell; four sisters, Haley and Allen Teasley, Betty and Don Welborn, Peggy Wilson, and Kay Alewine and her friend, Sam, all of Hartwell; his mother in-law, Dorothy A. Lankford of LaGrange; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father in-law, Ray Lankford.
The Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
