James C. Bonner, Sr.

Mr. James C. Bonner, 86, of Eufaula, Alabama, passed away Wednesday, August 31, 2022, at Crowne Healthcare of Eufaula.

Mr. Bonner was born May 5, 1936, in Opelika, Alabama, son of the late Curtis Bonner and Pauline Gill Bonner. He was raised in Hogansville, served in the U.S. Army from 1955 until 1957, and was a long-time resident of Eufaula, where he owned and operated Bonner Carpets for 25 years prior to his retirement. He loved supporting his grandchildren in all of their activities and enjoyed participating in his Monday night card group for many years.

Survivors include his sons, James C. Bonner, Jr. and his wife Rita, Jeffery S. Bonner and his wife Dare, all of Eufaula; and grandchildren, Brett Bonner, Katie Bonner, Scott Bonner, and Becca Bonner. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Jean McWaters Bonner; and his son, Jason Bonner.

A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 2, at the graveside in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville, with the Reverend Dick Gill officiating.
