James I. (Jim) Andrews

MR. JAMES I. (JIM) ANDREWS Mr. James I. (Jim) Andrews, 95, of the Georgia War Veterans Home in Milledgeville and formerly of LaGrange, passed away Monday, November 16, 2015, at Oconee Regional Medical Center in Milledgeville. Mr. Andrews was born February 11, 1920, in Monroe, son of the late William and Emma Cornwell Andrews. An Army veteran of World War II, he lived in LaGrange most of his life and retired from the Elm City Division of Milliken and Company. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Temple and the Elm City Masonic Lodge. After retirement he worked in landscape maintenance and small engine repair. He enjoyed gardening, singing and gospel music. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eva Jones Andrews and is survived by his daughter, L. Faye Andrews Short and son in-law the Rev. Dennis Short of Maxeys; granddaughter, Karen Denise Weimer and son-in-law, Wayne Weimer of Watkinsville; great-granddaughters, Emily Kate Weimer and Abigail Rose Weimer; nephew J.W. Andrews and his wife Sarah and great nephew Jeff Andrews of LaGrange; along with other nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 20, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Dwain Swanson and the Reverend James Moon will officiate and interment will be in Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange, with military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8 Thursday night. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Visitation: from 6 until 8 Thursday night, November 19th, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Services: 3:00 p.m., Friday, November 20th, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home Interment: Shadowlawn Cemetery in LaGrange
