MR. JAMES L. ALMON
Mr. James Lewis Almon, 89, of Luthersville, died Tuesday, December 8, 2009, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 21, at Providence Primitive Baptist Church in Luthersville, with Dr. Robert Trammell officiating. Visitation will be held immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall.
Mr. Almon was born November 16, 1920, in Luthersville, son of the late William Glenn Almon and the late Lucretia Nall (Janie) Almon. A 1937 graduate of Luthersville High School, he was a resident of Luthersville most of his life, worked at Davison-Paxon Department Store in Atlanta and Beavers Packing Company in Newnan, and then worked for Smith Hardware in Luthersville following his retirement.
He is survived by his brother, Glenn Almon of Luthersville; and was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Almon of Columbus.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Providence Primitive Baptist Church, %Robert M. Dodd, 1896 Luthersville Rd., Luthersville, GA 30251.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements.
