MR. LEE ROY ALLEN
Mr. James Lee Roy Allen, 82, of Grantville, died Sunday, November 29, 2009, at Piedmont Newnan Hospital.
The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 3, at the First Baptist Church of Moreland. The Reverend Daniel Ausbun and the Reverend Frank Powers will officiate and interment will be in the Grantville Cemetery, with full military honors.
Mr. Allen was born April 30, 1927, in Grantville, son of the late Ed Lee Allen and the late Eva Malcom Allen. He retired as Sergeant First Class from the U. S. Army after 23 years, having served during World War Two, the Korean War, and the Vietnam Conflict. Following his Army retirement, he owned and operated several businesses, returned to make his home in Grantville in 1987, and attended First Baptist Church of Moreland. Mr. Allen enjoyed reminiscing with his Army buddies and especially enjoyed participating in Veterans programs sponsored by the Newnan High School History Department.
A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, he is survived by his wife, Anneliese Allen, daughter, Barbara Roberson; son and daughter in-law, Robert and Teresa Allen; grandchildren, Joseph Lee Roberson and Kimberly Coker and her husband, Jay; and great-grandchildren, Carson Coker and Payton Coker, all of Grantville.
Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation: from 6 until 8 Tuesday night, December 1st, and from 6 until 8 Wednesday night, December 2nd, at Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home
