Jacqueline Whittle Mitchell

MRS. JACQUELINE W. MITCHELL Mrs. Jacqueline Whittle Mitchell, 78, of Luthersville, died Wednesday, July 2, 2014, at her home. Mrs. Mitchell was born February 14, 1936, in Atlanta, daughter of the late Homer and Effie Swaney Whittle. She had lived in Meriwether County since 2003 and was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church. Survivors include her sons and daughters in-law, David and Nancy Mitchell of Douglasville, Michael James Mitchell of Tyrone, William and Penny Mitchell of Luthersville; daughters and sons in-law, Sara and Gary Pugh of Carrollton, Donna and Robert Wright of Newnan; sister, Kathleen Luckley of Conyers; 19 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren plus many more who called her "Granny;" and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Lee Mitchell and her son, Tony Mitchell. The funeral service will be conducted at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 5, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home in Hogansville. The Reverend Wayne Settle will officiate and interment will be in the Luthersville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4 until 8 Friday evening. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
