MRS. JACQUELINE BOWDEN Mrs. Jacqueline Askew Bowden, 84, of Luthersville, died Sunday, April 28, 2013, at her home. The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1, at the graveside in the Luthersville Cemetery. Mrs. Bowden was born July 24, 1928, in Bell, California, daughter of the late William Jasper (Jack) Askew and Elmira Siebe Askew. A resident of Luthersville since 1935, she was a graduate of Georgie State College for Women in Milledgeville and retired after teaching first and second grade in the Luthersville Elementary School. She was Methodist by faith. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Joe Bowden; daughter and son in-law, Joan and Manley Henry; sons and daughters in-law, Scott and Deborah Bowden, Chris and Paula Bowden, all of Luthersville; grandchildren, Steven Reynolds, Jessica Brooks, Mark Bowden, Bonnie Boyd, Shawn Ashmore, Scott Ashmore, and Kristin Ashmore; and eight great-grandchildren. Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home of Hogansville is in charge of arrangements. Services: 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 1st, at the graveside Interment: Luthersville Cemetery
