Mr. Jack D. Landers, age 93, of Acworth, passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026, at Celebration Village in Acworth.
Born September 14, 1932, in Thomaston, Mr. Landers was the son of the late Joseph Daniel Landers and Ruby Estelle Medley Landers. He served in the United States Air Force and rose to the rank of Chief Master Sergeant before retiring after 26 years of service. After retiring from the Air Force, Mr. Landers worked as an Employee Representative for the Georgia Department of Labor in Griffin, and made his home in Hampton for 28 years before moving to Acworth 20 years ago. He was raised in the Hogansville Church of God, loved fishing, having yard sales, and talking to people.
Survivors include his wife, Marie Ramsey Landers of Acworth; daughters, Dianne and Bill Sowers of Nashville, TN and Vickie Studemeyer of New Carlisle, OH; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Landers was preceded in death by his sisters, Mildred Todd and Betty Jo Spradlin; and grandchildren, Billy Sowers and Holly Sowers.
Funeral services will be 4:00 p.m. Friday, August 21, in the Chapel of Claude A. McKibben and Sons Funeral Home. The Reverend Keith Willard will officiate and interment will be in Myrtle Hill Cemetery in Hogansville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., Friday, prior to the service.
