Isabelle Allen Todd, 89, of Greenville, GA was ushered into the arms of Jesus on Saturday morning, October 13, 2018.
Mrs. Todd was born March 18, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia and was the third of five girls born to Winston Stiles "Jack" and Dorothy Daniel Allen. Married to Robert L. Todd, III until his death in 2000, she was a loving wife and mother to three children, Lee, Jack and Gay. She was a lifelong member of Greenville United Methodist Church and a graduate of Greenville High School. While at the University of Georgia, she was a member of the University's tennis team and of Alpha Delta Pi sorority, serving as President her senior year. An educator, she worked for the Meriwether County School System for many years teaching English and Social Studies to third through eleventh graders.
Known affectionately as Izzy, she was a gentle soul who loved all people and always wore a beautiful smile. She enjoyed playing bridge, and her home was filled with family, friends, good food and love. A fabulous cook and talented baker, her table was a frequent gathering place. Among her other talents was her ability to beautifully memorialize events. As a collector of memories, she produced several books of poetry that captured forever special people and special moments.
She was predeceased by her husband, Robert L Todd, III; her parents, Winston Stiles and Dorothy Daniel Allen; and her eldest sister, Dorothy Allen Turner. Survivors include her children, Robert Lee Todd, IV and his wife and beloved daughter-in-law, Martha Ann Todd, Jack Allen Todd, and Laura Gay Todd, all of Greenville; two grandchildren, Carrie Chambers (Greg) of Durand, GA and Lee Todd (Lanna) of Greenville, GA; great-grandchildren, Brooks and Anna Grace Keller of Durand, GA; sisters, Frances Ann Ferguson of Atlanta, GA, Jane Mitchell of Waynesboro, GA, and Stiles Estes (Arthur) of Gay, GA; and many nieces and nephews.
The service will be at 12:00 noon, October 15, 2018 at the graveside in Greenville Cemetery with Reverend Jan Oglesbee officiating.
